What should you check before accepting a low EICR quote?
The useful question is what the figure includes. Published residential prices live on the cost guide. This page is the checklist for reading a quote against that scope.

Read the quote against the job
A lower quoted figure is not evidence that the inspection is the same job.
A quoted price may or may not include the inspection of the fixed installation, remedial work, VAT, the property type the band assumes, the extent of the report, and parking or travel.
This page makes no price-superlative claim and states no same-day offer.

Walk through the quote in this order
1. Write the headline down
Keep the figure exactly as it was offered, then ask whether VAT is inside it or still to be added.
2. Match the property
The published residential bands are for a flat or a house of a stated size. A shop, office or HMO is not one of those bands.
3. Separate the repair
The inspection is the condition of the fixed installation. Remedial work is a later instruction unless the quote says it is included.
4. Ask about travel and parking
The Central London travel fee applies only where the postcode check applies. Parking is not turned into a fixed sum on this page.
5. Name the document
Ask whether the visit produces a condition report of the installation, or a certificate that describes new work only.
What this firm actually publishes
VAT is charged at 20% on the published residential figures.

Parking is variable and is not calculated as a fixed amount.
