Does your consumer unit need replacing?

Start with the findings, rather than the age or appearance of the box.

An old-looking board does not, by itself, tell you the condition of every circuit. An EICR records what was inspected, what needs attention and any limitations. Replacement may form part of the agreed remedial scope, but the report and any necessary investigation should establish what is needed.

You already have an EICR

Send the complete report, including observations and test schedules. We review the findings before preparing a quote.

You are planning an upgrade

Tell us what you want to change and whether you have recent electrical paperwork. The office confirms what needs to be assessed.

You have a failed report

Ask for the work needed to address the unsatisfactory findings, or include recommended improvements in a wider agreed scope.

You are unsure what the report means

Bring the report to the conversation. A C3 recommendation and a finding that makes the assessment unsatisfactory are different decisions.

Know what your quote covers

Review the equipment, circuit work, access and completion documents before deciding.

The board and protection

The proposed equipment and work around the consumer unit are identified for the installation being quoted.

The existing circuits

Tell us about tripping, alterations or unresolved findings. Replacing the board alone does not describe all the work a circuit may need.

Access and interruption

Agree cupboard access, who will be at the property and the planned interruption to the electrical supply.

Testing and paperwork

Confirm the testing and completion documents included, plus how any outstanding findings will be recorded.

We quote the agreed work as a whole. You approve that scope before work starts. If an additional issue changes the required work, the changed scope and price need agreement.

Equipment detail from the job photographs supplied by our team. The equipment specified for your property depends on the assessment and agreed quotation.

A photograph can help explain the equipment. It cannot establish the safety of the full installation or replace the inspection and test results. The quotation should follow your property’s actual findings.

From your report to the agreed work

Send the details

Use the remedial enquiry to send the report, postcode, property type and any access information.

Review the scope

The office reviews the information and confirms what can be quoted and whether further information is needed.

Agree the work

Review the whole-scope quote, VAT and any access arrangements before choosing to proceed.

Complete the next step

The agreed work is carried out and its completion paperwork is handled through the job. Any follow-up inspection requirement is clarified for your scope.

An original finding, completion correspondence and a later report tell a stronger story than an unlabelled before-and-after photo.

Your questions, answered

Is £975 + VAT a fixed price for every property?

No. Consumer unit replacement starts at £975 + VAT. Your quotation reflects the installation, existing report, access and any additional work required. You agree the complete scope and price before work starts.

Will replacing the board resolve every EICR observation?

The work needed depends on the report. Some findings concern circuits, accessories or other equipment. The agreed repair scope should identify what is being addressed beyond the board itself.

Can you quote from another electrician’s EICR?

Yes. Send the complete report so the office can review it and prepare a quote for the agreed work. Further information or investigation may be needed before a scope can be confirmed.

Do I have to use you for the repairs?

No. You can choose a qualified contractor. Our quote is optional and no work starts until you agree to it.

Can I request an upgrade without an EICR?

Yes. Contact the team with the property details and what you want to change. The office will explain the information or assessment needed before quoting.

Ready to arrange the next step?

Tell us about the property and what you need. We’ll confirm the scope, price and visit arrangements with you.
