Handover
What electrical scope should be identified at a commercial handover?
At a commercial handover, identify the premises, the contacts and the electrical extent before you ask for an inspection. The lease is not interpreted here.

Identify the scope first
Commercial EICR pricing is a manual quotation.
1. Premises
Name the premises and the areas included, such as the shop floor, the office, a store or a plant space, where those areas are part of this handover.
2. Contacts
Name the incoming contact and the outgoing contact, and say who can open the premises.
3. Old report
If an earlier report exists, say which areas it covered and the date on it.
4. Boards
List the distribution boards you know about, and say where they are.
5. Changes
Say whether you know of alterations, added circuits, or a board that was moved.
6. Access
Say which areas are locked, and which supplies the site says must stay on.
7. The request
Say whether you are asking for a new inspection, or asking about a report you already hold.
What an older report does not decide
An earlier report describes the extent inspected at that time. It does not, by itself, describe work carried out afterwards.
A board that was added or moved should be named, so it can be included in the extent or left outside it.
Ask your legal or property adviser to confirm lease responsibilities, repairing obligations and who should instruct the inspection.
The difference between a condition report and an installation certificate is a separate explanation. This handover list does not repeat it.
Request it as a commercial inspection
Send the list with the commercial EICR enquiry. That service remains the place to request the inspection.
