What does three-phase change in an inspection?

Three-phase means the supply uses three live conductors. It is a way of delivering power. It is not, by itself, a defect.

A three-phase supply is not automatically unsafe, and it is not automatically an unsatisfactory EICR.

On a commercial inspection, the scope usually depends on which boards and circuits are included and whether they can be isolated.

An occupied premises needs a time when boards can be opened without guessing who is affected.

Isolation, where it is needed, has to be planned around the equipment that must stay on. Agree the isolation plan with the electrician and the responsible site contact before testing.

  Say which circuits can be switched off and which cannot.

  Say when the rooms and the switch room can be opened.

  Complexity does not choose the observation code.

A useful quotation request names the boards, the loads that cannot be switched off, and the access to the switch room.

Commercial inspections are quoted for the agreed installation, access and testing scope rather than a standard per-board or per-circuit rate.

A more complex installation is not the same thing as a more severe observation. Codes still depend on what the inspector finds.
