Estate and letting agents
Is this a let, a sale, a condition report, or a booking?
An estate or letting agent enquiry is about which question is being asked: a let, a sale, a general condition report, or a booking.

Four different questions
If the question is a rental, use the letting-agent instruction page. That page is for addresses, access and who should receive the report, not for a sale.
If the question is a sale or exchange, say that the inspection is being asked for as information for the transaction.
Ask the conveyancer what electrical records are needed for the sale.
If the question is the condition of the installation, treat it as an inspection request and identify why the report is being requested.
If you are ready to book, send the address, the type of premises, and whether access is arranged.
Let
If the question is a rental, use the letting-agent instruction page. That page is for addresses, access and who should receive the report, not for a sale.
Sale
If the question is a sale or exchange, say that the inspection is being asked for as information for the transaction.
Condition
If the question is the condition of the installation, treat it as an inspection request and identify why the report is being requested.
Booking
If you are ready to book, send the address, the type of premises, and whether access is arranged.
What this page will not do
Check the duties of the actual owner, occupier or responsible person.
Give the office the deadline so availability can be checked before the visit is confirmed.
For advice on your legal obligations or agreement, consult a qualified adviser.
Where to send the enquiry
Send which of those four questions you are asking, then use the letting-agent page, the testing enquiry, or the booking form.
