Barnet licenses shared homes across the borough until 27 October 2027. The council has proposed selective licensing for 10 wards, including Golders Green, Hendon, West Hendon, Colindale and Finchley Church End, but no selective scheme is in force yet.
On the Barnet side of Colney Hatch, addresses are mostly in Friern Barnet ward. Barnet Council has no selective licensing, so a home let to a single household there doesn't need one. Part of the area is in Enfield: New Southgate ward is inside Enfield's selective licensing area, so a single-household let there generally needs a selective licence.
