What should be included in the Canary Wharf inspection?
Tell us which flat, office, tenancy or other part of the property is being inspected, and which consumer units or distribution boards are in scope. If access to a board requires a concierge, building manager or locked area, let us know when you enquire. If the inspection also needs to cover a landlord-controlled riser or another part of the building, include that when you enquire.
Before the visit
Say who meets the engineer, which lobby to use, and whether a second board sits in a cupboard or plant room. Testing the fixed wiring switches circuits off for part of the visit, so locked risers should be named before the day.
After the inspection
The Canary Wharf condition report records the installation that was tested and the observations found. The classification guide explains the codes. Remedial work is quoted separately and does not start until you approve it.

Canary Wharf questions
Frequently asked questions for Canary Wharf
Questions about the visit, the price and the report.
Can I use the residential calculator?
Yes, for a flat or a house. A workplace needs a quotation.
Do I need to arrange building access?
Yes, if a concierge, building manager or locked area controls the boards. Say who will meet the engineer and whether a riser or plant room is part of the visit.
When is my appointment confirmed?
When the office agrees the date, the scope and the access. A request does not reserve the time.
Reading the observation codes
The report uses C1, C2, C3 and FI. The classification guide explains what each code means. The codes are recorded after the inspection.
